The Box

She opens the box. It is empty. She puts it down and then picks it up again. She brings it to the table and lay the box on top of the table. She lifts the box flaps and peers into it for the second time. She looks into the box and stares blankly into it. It is just an empty box, but she feels as if it holds something for her to unveil, discovering something new. It is an unexplainable feeling for her. She pushes it gently and backs a step away from the table.

She turns and looks at the surrounding area. Everything seems to look bleak and gray. She feels alone, but not sad. She is not angry, but she is not happy too. Lackadaisical, she sucks in a large gulp of air and exhale slowly. What is she to do? There is something shrouding her emotion, but she is not too sure what it is. It's hovering in the dark recess of her heart and mind. She feels empty, as empty as the box.
